bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis Lawson of Woolwine. She is the
granddaughter of L. W. Clifton of
Bassett and the late Carol Bowles
Clifton. She is also the granddaughter
of Doretha Lawless Lawson of Patrick
County and the late Elmer H. Lawson. The
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Tony Hutchens of Bassett. He is the
grandson of Linnie Oliver of Bassett and
the late John Hutchens. He is also the
grandson of Nannie Bet Hubbard of
Bassett and the late George Wilson
Hubbard. The bride was escorted by her
father. She wore a Judith Warren
creation gown made of white satin, a
sequined bodice with a white lace shawl
and a half moon train along with a
sequined crowned veil. She carried a
bouquet of blue and white roses.
Christy
Hutchens, sister of the bridegroom was
maid of Honor. She wore a blue satin
gown and carried a bouquet of blue and
white roses. Tony Hutchens, father of
the bridegroom, was best man. A program
of wedding music was presented by
Christy Hutchens. A reception was held
at the picnic area at Fred Clifton Park.
After a short wedding trip, the couple
will live in Bassett. The bride is a
graduate of Patrick County High school.
The groom is a graduate of Bassett High
School. Preacher Luther Hopkins
performed the ceremony. The flowers were
arranged by Jan Turner of Martinsville.
Prior to the wedding , a household
shower was held at the Fairystone Fire
Dept. by the families of the bride and
groom.
