The reporter didn't quite
get the story right. We were going to have a memorial bench on the
walk outside the airpark, but they were not accepting any more benches.
Adda called the Courtenay Airpark Association as asked if we could
donate a bench in Dad's memory right on the airpark, outside the
pilot's lounge where Dad spent many hours watching the planes and
talking to the pilot's. They couldn't find a spot for a bench, but
donated the table Dad used to sit on every Sunday for his memorial site.
We go there with Mom and the kids. It is a special spot and it's
almost as if it was meant to be...Dad would've wanted to be right on the
Airpark, not on the walk outside it. Mom, Adda and I spread Dad's
ashes on the runway at Courtenay Airpark.
